ARTIST PAGE: Photos, quotes, and info about the professionals themselves and their Time Machine Boosts
Brad Whitford of Aerosmith was the first major pro player to contact us as he was very interested in the Time Machine Boost after hearing about it from his guitar tech Greg Howard. Here is a photo of Brad's pedalboard setup that was used during Aerosmith's 2002 "Just Push Play" tour. The Time Machine Boost was punched in during some of Brad's solos to push his Marshall Super Lead amps into even greater natural sustain.
Pete Anderson, Grammy-Award winning producer and guitarist extraordinaire with credits of playing with Dwight Yoakam, K.D. Lang, Roy Orbison, and many others: "I thought it sounded good online, but then I got it in my hands...Wow! Three very useable sounds - very easy to dial up - great 4 slide. What else could you want?...Excellent!"
Dave Weiner, solo artist and guitarist for Steve Vai: "I've been playing around with the TMB. It's freaking amazing! I've grown particularly fond of the modern channel...I'll be using it on my future recordings for sure. I just wanted to write and tell you congratulations. This pedal is going to set a new precedence for boost pedals."
Lou Toomey, guitarist for Brooks and Dunn, Faith Hill: "I love the Time Machine Boost's natural way it boosts what your guitar and amp really sounds like, with the sweet harmonic top end. Of course the right combination of an amp that's already singing is critical, but for me even clean guitar has to have some grit so it's perfect. I really like the "73" and the Modern setting. So job well done and it will be a very useful tool."
Paul Crook, guitarist for Meat Loaf, Sebastian Bach, and formerly with Anthrax: "I just got back from full-production rehearsals. I leave for the UK tomorrow. The TMB pedal sounds awesome. I can't believe the sustain (without coloration) that this thing creates!!! I put you in my equipment list for the MEAT LOAF TOUR PROGRAM."
"I took it to a session here in Nashville where the other guitar players on the date were Dann Huff, Gordon Kennedy, and Dan Dugmore. OH MY GOD...I was using a 70's Les Paul goldtop through an old Jim Kelly amp (think black faced Deluxe with a 60w output) that was set for clean but just starting to break up. Using the neck mini humbucker and with the TMB 1966 boost kicked in, I got a tone that I've NEVER had before with overdrive and distortion pedals. The notes just sang! It was hands down the most expressive lead tone I've EVER HAD!!! When I would bend notes there is now this vocal/phasing quality to the bend (think Brian May). It was so great to see the reaction from the other guitar players- that look where they point to the pedal, screw up their face and do a slow approving head nod and occasionally say 'Oh my gosh, there it is!'"
Ray Gomez, Solo and Session Artist and Collaborator/Writer (Stanley Clarke, Roy Buchanan, Jack Bruce, Aretha Franklin, among many others!).WWW.RAYGOMEZ.COM "Love the idea, love the pedal. It rocks...Thanx David!!"
"Bro, thank u so much for putting out that pedal. I LOVE it!! It's very, very cool."
Other Artists and Industry Pros: 12//04 Some updates! ZZ Top legend Billy Gibbons spent some time out in the L.A. area recently with George Lynch and Billy was raving about the new custom George Lynch Time Machine Boost he tried out. So much so in fact, that George ended up giving the Rev Gibbons his own personal GL TMB! That was his special serial #GL 001, and was the first produced for George himself with his desired circuit revisions. Now George owns and plays #GL 002. Former Anthrax and Sebastian Bach gunslinger Paul Crook (who's most recently put in time touring with Meat Loaf), was selected as the lead guitarist for the acclaimed musical "We Will Rock You!" now playing in Las Vegas. The musical was first produced over in England and is being directed by Brian May of Queen among others as it comes to the states! Paul upgraded his rig with the very latest TMB w/Warp Drive feature and is using it alongside his May Burns guitar and customized Vox AC-30 to get those famous Queen tones. Congratulations Paul on the great new gig! And last but certainly not least, Peter Frampton has joined the ranks of Time Machine Boost users and has added it to his main stage board. Chief Designer and TMB partner Robert Keeley recently was invited to join Mr. Frampton to a nice dinner and discussion. Definitely a treat! ------------------------------------- The list of TMB users is growing and it's been a lot of fun hearing from the professionals out there. Many of these players are people that we grew up listening to and admired for years - It's been a dream come true to know that they are now part of the Time Machine Boost family. LegendaryTones President David Szabados' own special commemorative Time Machine Boost has found its home at legendary Pink Floyd guitarist and solo artist David Gilmour's Astoria studio. Gilmour's music has had a great influence on Szabados' own playing through the years. Guitar great Steve Vai also now has a Time Machine Boost as does Dave Weiner, his 2nd guitarist and member of the Steve Vai band when Steve goes out on tour. Guitarist extraordinaire George Lynch, known for his work with Dokken and more recently with Lynch Mob also reports back that he's really enjoying his TMB. Bob Rock, musician and legendary producer of bands such as The Cult, Motley Crue, and Metallica, has a Time Machine Boost as well. Pro session and recording artists are also picking up the TMB: Greg Lockhart, industry veteran and session artist whose resume includes recording and playing with Delbert McClinton was among the first studio players to use the TMB and states its got a permanent spot on his pedal board. Ace Los Angeles area session artist and songwriter, Corky James, whose played on albums by LeAnn Rimes, Avril Lavigne, Lili Haydn and Nina Hagen, is thrilled with his TMB, and though he's only had it a short while so far, says he's already used it on several recent sessions.
